Philips' Flexible Screen

Philips' new flexible LCD screen is something that Jamie has been asking for for years. It's his flying car, the promised super-technology of the future. They remind me of Earth: Final Conflict but without the shit plot and lousy aliens. How far are we from the self-updating newspapers of Minority Report? My guess is decades, but let's not let that get in the way of a good geek story.

I have just developed a sudden case of the "gimmie-gimmie-want-wants" - but no commercial product planned. Bummer.

It really is. I'm astounded at the growth in this development of late and have been watching the progress of many a company. Here ( http://techon.nikkeibp.co.jp/english/NEWS_EN/20050401/103334/?ST=english ) is the new seiko e-ink watch. Take a look. Take a good look. Now think about the blood fueled power cells, the low power usage of this and sewing it under your skin. Yeah, the future is gross, but the potential of things like this are huge.

Frankly I just want the coffee cup that reads your biometric data and stabalises temperature of the liquid inside accordingly. The would be so sweet.
